The CRC team made the journey up to lovely Edinburgh for the ISBA conference last week. We spoke to lots of bursars about Using Less Stuff – a subject usually close to their hearts! Recycling is, of course, a good thing to do but the main problem is that we are all using too much stuff in the first place. Cutting down on this stuff saves resources, reduces waste and saves money. We were discussing many ways to Use Less, from technology such as monitoring systems, LEDs and boiler managment to behaviour change – getting everyone to switch off the lights and turn off their computers at the end of the day.
We were giving away delicious wine too! We had 2 prizes of £250 of wine locked away in our safe and most of the bursars came and tried their personnal codes to see if they had the correct combination. The merry winners were the bursars of Cranleigh School and Marlborough College. The wine was supplied by The Real Wine Company and will be delivered to them shortly. Congratulations!
